10/10: Is this the best Blind Date EVER?!

Dylan, 36, says:

I was so nervous to begin with because I have never done a proper blind date before. It was kind of funny the day before thinking ahead to the date and not even knowing the girl’s name, what she looked like and all that. We both arrived early and I was really taken aback when I saw my date walk in. She was very beautiful.

Conversation flowed so well. We obviously started off by talking about the whole situation and how we ended up here. For me, a friend texted me and told me I should apply so I was like ‘yeah, why not’. We skipped over all the boring first date questions and get straight to the good stuff which was so good because it didn’t feel like a job interview or anything. It was just a really nice free flowing conversation. We chatted about what we did outside of work. She has some interesting little hobbies.

We are both at really similar stages of life so there was plenty to relate to. We are both divorced. I’ve got a kid, she has two dogs, which are like her kids. Something funny we discussed was country music. She loves it and said she finds no one likes it. I’m not saying I’m a huge fan but being a wedding DJ, I have listened to my fair share so she was quizzing me on my country music knowledge. I think I passed.

We ended up being the last ones in the restaurant, then we went upstairs to where they were having a rave. It was actually so fun. We had a little boogie and stayed up there for about an hour and then wrapped up the date.

We’ve already organised our next date and plan on seeing each other again on the weekend. It was a really good night. Everything was all so easy, the conversation was great, she was great and an easy person to get along with and have a good time with.

Jessie, 33 says:

I really didn’t know what to expect. I’ve read all the other articles to see how other dates went and I was like, “I’d be lucky to get an eight out of 10 stepping through that door”. Nothing against other dates, I just knew my list was long and maybe I just didn’t want to get my hopes up but oh my goodness – how surprised was I. My date was great fun, a great conversationalist and there was an instant attraction.

We covered so many topics while chatting. We talked about religion, politics and failed marriages. We have very similar outlooks on those big ticket items. I was laughing and said how are we even talking about any of this stuff. Not my usual first date material but I think it speaks to how easy the conversation was.

I don’t think either of us really wanted to say goodnight when the restaurant was closing so we went upstairs after the waitress mentioned there was a rave going on. I don’t think the music was either of our tastes but off we went. It was so much fun.

I offered to drive him home at the end of the date and he didn’t turn off my country music on the drive so that was another tick. He suggested we go on a second date to an American BBQ place, which I am excited about.

I have to give the date an absolute 10. If the option is there to give more, I would. In terms of first dates, I was nervous to begin but I had a great time with a great person who totally put me at ease. He was really just somebody that you want to get to know more.

My friends were on the phone to me at 6am the morning after to find out how the date went, which was funny. I’m still buzzing from the night.
