13 Times Celebs Tried To Be Like Us, But Were Actually Super Out-Of-Touch

13 Times Celebs Tried To Be Like Us, But Were Actually Super Out-Of-Touch

Why do so many celebs not know anything about banks?!?!

Recently, Kylie and Kris Jenner went grocery shopping because they wanted to do “normal” things. This obviously led to backlash, considering people are struggling to even afford groceries.

Hulu

One user wrote, “Kylie and Kris calling going to the grocery store and checking out and filling their cart an experience is the most white rich privileged thing I’ve seen.” It definitely didn’t land well, given the state of the economy and how people are struggling just to afford groceries.

This led me to find other times celebs tried to do normal stuff, but ultimately fell flat and came across out-of-touch. Here are 12 other examples:

1.

Besides grocery shopping, when Kylie and Kris treated a car wash like it was an actual amusement park ride:

A trip to the to the car wash & a grocery run – CHORES for us regular folks

BUT

For Kylie and Kris – IT IS AN ACTIVITY (just like going to Disney world) ????

They are just like us……..NO ????????????

2.

When Bill Gates and Warren Buffett attempted to work a shift at Dairy Queen and struggled to work the ice cream machine:

3.

When Kim and Khloé Kardashian went to Disneyland, but cut everyone in line to go on the teacups ride:

It reportedly added an extra 30 minutes of wait time for riders because the Kardashians cut the line.

4.

When Kathy Hilton tried to sweep up a mess she made during Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (Season 11, Episode 10) — and used a grill cleaner!

Bravo

After her sister Kyle kept spilling glass containers of spices, Kathy offered to help clean. She literally thought this grill cleaner was a BROOM. YUP.

5.

When Gwyneth Paltrow participated in a $29 food stamps weekly budget challenge:

This is what $29 gets you at the grocery store—what families on SNAP (i.e. food stamps) have to live on for a week.

She participated in a $29 food stamps budget challenge, which definitely didn’t land well, considering she’s a millionaire actor.

6.

When Nene Leakes rode the subway on Real Housewives of Atlanta (Season 5, Episode 6) — but wore six-inch Louboutin heels!

7.

When Ellen and Michelle Obama went to CVS, and Michelle didn’t know what an ATM machine was…

9.

When Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast went “camping” — like this (Season 9, Episode 13)

Bravo

They had a full-blown glamorous camper with hundreds of dollars worth of groceries for one night and a luxurious charcuterie board.

10.

When E|len and Oprah went grocery shopping and brought “to-go bags” — aka Louis Vuitton bags that are like $5,000:

11.

When Erika Girardi deposited a check at the bank for the first time at 50. “I learned how to go into a bank in March. I didn’t know how to deposit; I never had a debit.”

Bravo

Erika said her husband Tom was in charge of all her finances, and that she handed over every paycheck to her husband.

12.

And lastly, when Justin Bieber wanted to do a date night with Selena Gomez — so he rented out Staples Center:
