This viral video of Akshay Kumar is from the year 2017. He had released this video on the occasion of New Year regarding molestation in Bengaluru.

A disturbing video of two Kuki women in Manipur being paraded naked and sexually assaulted by a large mob of men has sparked widespread protests across the country. As per the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF), the incident is said to have occurred on 4 May in Kangpokpi district in Manipur, a day after clashes erupted between the two ethnic groups. The assaulters were Meiteis. 

Following this, P M Modi addressed the viral video and assured that the accused will not be spared. Four people who were allegedly part of the mob which paraded the women have been arrested so far. After the footage came out, the social media is full of anger against the central government.

In this scenario Bollywood celebrities have given their respective reactions on social media regarding the incident in Manipur. Adding to this, a video of Akshay Kumar is going viral on social media. The users who shared the video claim that the actor has expressed his anger over the incident in Manipur through this video.

In the video, Akshay Kumar can be heard saying, that he is also a father of a daughter and that society should not call them human if they cannot respect women. He also stressed the need to change the mindset regarding women rather than judging them on the basis of their clothes.

Fact Check-

A reverse image search on Google with the key frames of the video led us to the original video tweeted by Akshay Kumar’s official Twitter handle in 2017. The video has been captioned as, “The Bangalore incident makes me feel we r evolving backwards, from humans to animals, rather beasts coz even animals are better! Truly shameful.”

In further search we found this video uploaded on NDTV’s official YouTube channel on 5 January, 2017. According to the information, “Akshay Kumar released this video expressing anger over the molestation incident in Bengaluru on the occasion of New Year.”

In 2017 some women said they were molested by mobs of men while taking part in New Year’s Eve celebrations in Bangalore. Times Now and Zee News had also shared this video in 2017 with the same information.

Meanwhile, we checked whether Akshay Kumar made any remarks on Manipur violence, he tweeted condemning the Manipur gangrape incident on 20 July. It states “Shaken, disgusted to see the video of violence against women in Manipur. I hope the culprits get such a harsh punishment that no one ever thinks of doing a horrifying thing like this again.”
