Audi’s RS 6 wagon and RS 7 coupe-like sedan are getting improved performance trims with larger turbochargers bolted to their 4.0-liter biturbo V-8 engine, boosting horsepower by 30 to 621 and giving the cars a 0-to-60-mph sprint time of just 3.3 seconds. There is added torque as well: 627 pound-feet, up 37.
In addition to more power and torque, the 2024 RS 6 Avant Performance and RS 7 Performance — the most powerful RS 6 and RS 7 models to date, according to Audi — are equipped with more precise self-locking differentials and improved steering dynamics.
And counterintuitively to its status as a premium brand, Audi has reduced sound insulation inside the cars to allow “the song of the powerful 4.0-liter biturbo V-8” to resonate more with passengers’ ears.
A new Bronze edition, available in the U.S. only, will be limited to 125 vehicles: 75 RS 6 Avant Performance models and 50 RS 7 Performance models. The Bronze edition features black crystal effect paint, matte gold 22-inch 5-Y-spoke wheels, steel brakes with black painted calipers, a gloss carbon exterior package, Valcona leather seating, Dynamic Ride Control suspension, an RS sport exhaust system with black finishers, a Bang & Olfusen advanced sound system and a Dinamica headliner.
Pricing, including shipping, starts at $126,895 for the RS 6 Avant Performance and $128,895 for the RS 7 Performance.
