If you’re a fan of scathingly strong, over-powered SUVs, circle May 31 on your calendar, the date the 2024 Range Rover Sport SV will be unleashed. While we haven’t heard much official word on this new model, it will likely replace the current Range Rover Sport SVR — having both wouldn’t benefit the niche brand, which has been short enough on sales lately.

A new teaser video from the automaker does give us a small taste, though, and shows the SV sliding in and around sand dunes in Dubai, with the driver activating “SV Mode” through a red illuminated paddle shifter. Said paddle shift makes a few appearances, with Range Rover really underlining the feature.

The current SVR model runs a supercharged 5.0-liter V8, boasting 518 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. The brand says the SV will be the fastest, most dynamic, most technologically advanced Range Rover Sport ever, so perhaps it’ll eclipse the 600 mark for torque or horsepower.

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

With the SV decked out in full camouflage, this teaser video also marks a win for the Range Rover marketing team, as the budget for this clip must’ve been bonkers. I mean, outside of the above-mentioned footage of Dubai, there’s also video of the SV in Italy and France and across a variety of terrains, drifting, dashing, slipping, and sliding.

Personally, I’d trade heaps of horsepower for a reliable and reasonably fast infotainment system and the elimination of reliability issues. Let us know in the comments if you’re excited for what’s likely the last big gasoline hurrah from Land Rover.
