Toyota has announced an updated four-trim lineup for its GR Supra sports car in the Canadian market, with the highlight undoubtedly being the introduction of a new Special Edition GR Supra for 2024 that celebrates the heritage of the legendary Celica Supra, first introduced in 1979. For those interested in owning this slice of Supra history, Canadian pricing will start at $80,434 (delivery fees included) and it will be limited to 45 units for the Canadian market.
Finished in a bold Plasma Orange scheme with black exterior side graphics, the 2024 Toyota GR Supra 45th Anniversary Special Edition is based on a 3.0-litre manual transmission model. Extra touches on the exterior include a manually adjustable rear spoiler, orange strut tower braces, orange Supra badge, black brake callipers and 19-inch wheels with a matte black finish. A unique black leather interior and serialization plaque complete the look of the special edition Supra.

Meanwhile, the base 2024 Toyota GR Supra 2.0 will see a slight bump of $840 over the 2023 model, making its 2024 Canadian starting price $61,224, with delivery fees factored into the cost. It is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged inline-four engine that generates 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. That power is fed to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The GR Supra 3.0 Premium models with either the automatic (AT) or manual transmission (MT) option are both fitted with a 3.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged inline-six that cranks out a healthy 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The engine in the GR Supra AT is paired with a crisp eight-speed transmission, while the MT gets a six-speed intelligent manual transmission that Toyota says has been specifically adapted for the 3.0-litre inline-six engine.

All the cars in the refreshed lineup have a generous package of driver assists and safety features. The exact gadgetry varies slightly with each model variant. However, even the base model Supra 2.0 has a decent amount of tech goodies, including an 8.8-inch touchscreen, backup camera, lane departure warning with steering assist, full LED headlight package, and parking sensors. The Premium trims add a head-up display, 12-speaker JBL audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless charger, and more.
The 2024 Toyota GR Supra is now on sale at Toyota dealerships across Canada.
