You might notice an extra bit of pink here and there this month, and that’s for good reason—October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A national campaign that’s goal is to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer.
If you’re looking for a way to give back while you’re out and about, take a look at menu specials at some of your favorite restaurants. From pink sushi rolls to specialty desserts and Insta-worthy pink cocktails, the hospitality industry is doing its part to spread awareness.
Here are 25 South Florida restaurants that are making donations to various charities in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
With outposts located in Wynwood, Coconut Grove and a third on the way in Fort Lauderdale, Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop is thinking pink with the arrival of its Strawberry Crunch Cake featuring cream cheese filling coated in crushed strawberry streusel. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, 20% of Strawberry Crunch Cake sales for the month of October will benefit BRCAStrong, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports women who have been touched by breast and ovarian cancer.
Talkin’ Tacos in Brickell will donate 15% of sales from their Chicken BBQ Bao Bun Tacos (grilled chicken glazed with sour BBQ sauce topped with pickled “pink” onions and cilantro) and their Chia Strawberry Lemonade during the entire month of October to two local non-profit organizations: 305 Pink Pack and Susan G Komen.
Drink pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month at Fort Lauderdale’s Lona Cocina & Tequileria. During the month of October, Lona is featuring a lineup of rosé wines from France, Spain, Argentina, and New Zealand by the bottle for $50. Lona will be donating 50% of the month’s sales of select rosé wines to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Throughout October, Toro Toro is featuring the Pink La Bomba—a pink chocolate half sphere filled with cream cheese mousse, dulce de leche, strawberry ice cream, fresh berries, cookie crumbles, and vanilla and berry sauce—and 15% of all proceeds from sales of the dessert will be donated to BRCAStrong.
EST. 33 has crafted a limited edition cocktail named the Teerak — “darling” in Thai — for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, described as a drink that portrays Miami’s Caribbean heritage combining white rum with the tropical flavors of guava and watermelon, resulting in a zesty, fruity and refreshing libation. A portion of proceeds from drink sales will be donated to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation.
In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, diners are invited to enjoy 2 Korean Girls’ signature drink The Last Imoogi—a bright pink dragon fruit-infused cocktail served with a swirl of rose gold shimmer, Domaine de Canton, citrus, and orange bitters beautifully garnished with an edible flower. All proceeds will be going to the Miami Dolphins Challenge Cancer, which is dedicated to raising funds for life-saving cancer research at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, La Boulangerie Boul’Mich—the French-Latin American family-oriented artisanal deli, bakery and cafe—has partnered with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and will be donating 10% of all croissant sales to the charity.
Pubbelly Sushi is partnering with Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center during the month of October. Their iconic Butter Krab Roll will be rolled in pink rice paper, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Sylvester’s wig program—which provides quality wigs to cancer patients.
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is offering guests a sweet way to show their support during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While enjoying the new Ultimate Dinosaurs: Meet a New Breed of Beast exhibit, pop into the Food@Science café that will be serving a Pink Dino Cookie the month of October. Available starting on Monday, October 10, proceeds of the dino cookie will be donated to a local charity to support breast cancer research.
DC PIE co. will be offering a specialty Breast Cancer Awareness cocktail with proceeds benefitting the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. The cocktail, Courage, is made with 818 Tequila, lemon juice, and strawberry puree. It will be available at DC PIE co. as well as DOM’S, DCP’s sister bar.
Nikki Beach will be donating 50% of the proceeds from the Summer Salad to Susan G. Komen during the month of October. The Summer Salad is made with fresh strawberries, spinach, sliced toasted almonds, crumbled feta cheese, and prickly pear dressing.
Mehzcla’s Ensalada Rusa is made with pink-potato mash, roasted red beets, pickled hard-boiled egg, purple carrots, and watermelon radish drizzled with garlic aioli. All proceeds will be donated to a supporting cause in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Salty Donut will be offering a specialty donut from October 3-23 benefiting The Breasties, the first all-inclusive nonprofit organization that creates community for those impacted by breast and gynecologic cancers. The Strawberries + Cream Breast Cancer Awareness Special is a 24-hr brioche bottom crusted in white chocolate with strawberry cookie crumble, strawberry cream cheese glaze and white chocolate drizzle.
For the month of October, Tanuki will feature a limited time only cocktail—Ume Blossom—donating a portion of proceeds to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. The special pink-hued cocktail is made with Ten High Whiskey, plum liqueur, yuzu, infused hibiscus, and a hibiscus salt rim.
Drink up at Wynwood’s Mayami where in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month a $1 from every cocktail purchased in the month of October will be donated to Florida Breast Cancer Foundation.
In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pure Green in Sunset Harbour is donating 10% of proceeds for the Melon Hydr8 cold pressed juice to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. This cold pressed juice contains up to 4 billion flora of probiotics for gut health and ingredients include watermelon, strawberry, lime, probiotics and a touch of himalayan salt.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Airmail at Alton Food Hall is offering a special cocktail called The Flamingo Park Swizzle made with elderflower, grapefruit, pomegranate, and lemon. In addition, both Airmail and Alton Food Hall will donate $2 total for each cocktail sale to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
LPM Miami, located in the heart of Brickell, is offering a specialty cocktail and dessert in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A twist on the Clover Club, the LPM Club features gin, fresh basil, raspberry, and elderflower. The Pink October Dessert is a vanilla mousse, with raspberry compote, and an almond biscuit. All proceeds will be donated to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation at the end of the month.
Sugar Factory is introducing the Think Pink Insane Milkshake just for October. A blend of strawberry ice cream and vanilla soft serve, the shake is served in a light pink ganache dipped mug and decorated with pink sprinkles and laced with a Hubba Bubba ribbon. It’s topped with whipped cream, pink pearls, a candy necklace, and a whirly pop. A portion of sales from each shake will be donated to breast cancer research.
Head to Casa Sensei for the Pink Sunrise made with white rum, lime juice, mint, prickly pear, sugar, and soda water. Pair the drink with the limited-time Pretty in Pink roll made with shrimp tempura, avocado, garlic kimchi and kani wrapped in pink rice and topped with tuna and spicy mayo with Casa special sauce. A portion of proceeds from the pink drink and roll sales will be donated to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
W Miami’s ADDiKT Modern Kitchen will be offering Pink Pancakes for breakfast; the Lady in Pink made with cold smoked salmon, pink herb crème, cucumber, pink onions and everything toast for lunch and dinner; and the the Pink Mojito served any time at the bar. A portion of proceeds from these items will be donated to breast cancer research.
Shoma Bazaar in Doral will be donating proceeds from their special Breast Cancer Awareness Month cocktails to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation at the end of October. The two cocktails are the Pink Pom Martini featuring Atian Rose Gin with a hint of pomegranate garnished with pomegranate seeds and a sugar rim and the Lady in Pink with coconut infused vodka garnished with lime wheel, oregano, and edible orchid.
All month long in October, Bodega will be featuring a Spicy Strawberry Margarita in partnership with Mijenta Tequila in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and $1 from every cocktail sold will be donated to Dolphins Cancer Challenge.
La Mar by Gaston Acurio will offer a special themed dish during October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Pink Causa for a Cause is a terrine of potato puree plated in the shape of a ribbon, tinted pink by the addition of beets, and includes crabmeat, sunchokes, salmon, avocado, smoked trout roe and creamy huancaina sauce, a specialty of award-winning executive chef Diego Oka. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation during October.
Support the cause with 4 Rivers Smokehouse from October 3rd to October 29th where guests will have the option to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar amount with proceeds to benefit Advent Health for Women. They will also be offering Pink Nachos made with pink tortilla chips fried to order, topped with choice of meat, pico de gallo, guasacaca, nacho cheese sauce, cilantro lime creme fresh, pickled jalapenos, cilantro with partial proceeds also benefiting Advent Health for Women.
