The sixth-seeded 49ers defeated the top-seeded Packers by a final score of 13-10 Saturday night at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

Kicker Robbie Gould hit a 45-yard game-winning field goal as time expired to send San Francisco to its second NFC Championship game in three years.

San Francisco’s special teams saved the day for a struggling offense.

Down 10-3 in the fourth quarter, the 49ers blocked a Packers’ punt to tie the game 10-10 with 4:41 left.

Jimmy Garoppolo was 11-of-19 passing for 131 yards and threw one interception. He was assisted by a rushing attack that combined for 106 yards on 29 carries.

Deebo Samuel rushed 10 times for 39 yards while Elijah Mitchell was 53 yards on 17 carries.

Samuel also caught three balls for 44 yards and even returned a kickoff — seemingly doing it all for San Francisco.

The 49ers’ defense held the Packers to 67 rushing yards.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was held in check by San Francisco’s defense with 225 passing yards and no touchdowns. He was sacked five times.

Prior to Saturday, the Packers have won the last two meetings, but both were in the regular season.

The 49ers have won the last two postseason meetings — dating back to the 2020 NFC Championship at Levi’s Stadium.
