There have been some outstanding new openings in New York City this spring and summer, and if you haven’t visited them yet, you should definitely check them out. Whether you want to get a bite to eat, pamper yourself with a pedicure, or buy coffee in an aesthetically pleasing location, this city has you covered. Here are five new spots to enjoy this summer.
1. La Marchande
There’s a new French brasserie in town and this one has a modern take on the classics. La Marchande is located in the newly-opened The Wall Street Hotel in beautifully designed, sexy space great for a date. Start your meal with something from their raw bar, a seafood tower if you can’t decide on just one item, and pair it with one of their boozy amis. The rubis with vodka, roasted beets, horseradish, caraway is a nice Slavic-inspired pink pairing. Other delicious menu items include the brioche with crème fraiche and optional caviar, blue crab roll and lamb prime rib. And definitely leave room for their fantastic chocolate crème brulée.
Step inside New York City’s first outdoor nail saloon which doesn’t just feature a garden where you can get a pedicure, you can also have a tasty beverage while you’re at it. Founded by husband wife Lilly and Jorge Rojas, they’ve created a beauty oasis with non-toxic nail products where you can have coffee, wine or beer depending on the time of day. The pedicures outside are waterless with rigorous hygiene standards in super comfortable chairs. Come here solo or with a group of friends to get pampered in Greenpoint.
3. ENLY
There’s no shortage of coffeeshops in New York City but how many of them also sell hand-poured candles? ENLY founded by Estonian model Enly Tammela caters to both your caffeine and candle needs in her gorgeous coffeeshop in Nolita. She also makes delicious shaken matcha with a variety of housemade syrups and serves Estonian baked goods. Looking for something refreshing? Try ENLY’s lavender fizz which is perfect for scorching city weather. Stop by between 7 am and 6 pm to refresh and recharge with a beverage at 227 Mott Street.
Summer and rooftops go hand in hand in New York City, and if you love a view, you won’t be disappointed at Darling, Park Lane Hotel’s rooftop bar. This bar has the distinction of being the only rooftop bar on Billionaire’s Row and if you visit, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning uninterrupted view of Central Park. Grab one of their wasabi and blood orange cocktails and their delicious basil arancini for the perfect alfresco after work drinks.
5. 53
