“It’s important to choose the right concealer for your skin needs,” says dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, MD. Unsurprisingly, what your complexion craves in summer won’t be the same as what it wants when temperatures plummet. In winter, dermatologist Rachel Nazarian, MD, FAAD recommends shelving your warm-weather concealers in favor of “lightweight, natural anti-inflammatory oils that hydrate skin, such as avocado oil, and one of the best ingredients to look for is hyaluronic acid, which can draw-in and hold an incredible amount of water in the skin,” she says, adding that those with particularly dry skin should avoid products with alcohol, fragrance, or perfume.
