Hannah Teter was featured in the SI Swimsuit Issue in 2010 after being photographed by Warwick Saint in Whistler, Canada.

The athlete got her start in snowboarding when she was just 8-years-old and turned pro in 2002. Four years later, she won a gold medal for the halfpipe at the Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, at the age of 19.

“Snowboarding definitely provides a platform to be able to reach out to a way big audience,” she told HuffPost about her Olympic victory. “It’s an opportunity to reach millions, and it’s opened a big arena of possibilities for me. I was actually injured in Torino and wasn’t training, just visualizing and tapping into deep motivation. I thought, if I were to do well, I could use that to make positive changes in the world. That was the motivation to help me win for sure.”

In 2010, Teter returned to the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, where she won a silver medal. She made her SI Swimsuit Issue debut the same year.

Today, the 36-year-old is a global ambassador for Oneskee, a high-performance snow sports apparel brand.

Below are five of Teter’s best photographs from her SI Swimsuit photo shoot.
