SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — As of Thursday afternoon, power was restored to most of the PG&E customers who lost power in San Francisco, with an exception for about 500 customers in the Financial District. The estimated time for restoration for the chunk still without power is 10 a.m. Saturday, according to PG&E’s outage map.

This come during the hottest few days the Bay Area has seen so far, with temperatures expected to reach up into the high 80s or even 90 in some areas.

PG&E’s outage map said the main outage was affecting 9,454 customers Wednesday night. Other smaller outages affected several hundred in the same area. The outage affected the Financial District, North Beach, Russian Hill, and Nob Hill neighborhoods.

The outage began at 9:13 p.m., according to PG&E. The cause is unclear, but the San Francisco Fire Department tweeted that a vault fire broke out last night at 640 Clay Street, just before the outage occurred.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire, according to SFFD.
