A child has died following a horror daylight crash on a busy suburban street in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Emergency services were called to Anzac Ave at Collaroy following reports of a car crash involving a child.
Paramedics treated a five-year-old at the scene before he was rushed to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
The child was pronounced dead about 6pm on Saturday.
Police have since established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist officers.
The driver of the vehicle – a 77-year-old man – was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital for mandatory testing.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
