Hannah Teter started snowboarding at the age of 8, and became a World Junior Halfpipe Champion seven years later. The athlete turned pro in 2002 and went on to win a gold medal in the halfpipe event at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy when she was just 19.

Four years later, Teter earned a silver medal in Vancouver at the 2010 Games. She appeared in the SI Swimsuit Issue the same year. Her photo shoot took place at Whistler Blackcomb, a ski resort where numerous Olympic events were held that winter.

“Growing up in Vermont in the middle of the woods, I just never ever dreamed about being in Sports Illustrated and doing just bathing suit stuff and half-nude stuff and just like being risqué,” she said of her SI Swimsuit feature at the time.

Today, the seven-time X Games medalist is a global ambassador of high-performance snow sports apparel brand, Oneskee. The 36-year-old is also a global ambassador for the Special Olympics.

Below are six beautiful snapshots photographer Warwick Saint captured of Teter in Whistler, Canada.
