76ers at Rockets: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The Houston Rockets will wrap up a three-game homestand and officially kick off the second half of their 2021-22 regular season when Philadelphia visits Toyota Center on Monday. If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We have the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as all the information you’ll need to make the smartest bets at Tipico Sportsbook.

The Rockets-76ers game tips at 7 p.m. CST and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.

In a rematch from one week earlier in Philadelphia, the Rockets are hoping to somehow get some revenge against Joel Embiid and the heavily favored Sixers when they make Monday’s return visit to Toyota Center.

Led by a 30-point triple-double by Embiid, a perennial All-Star center and MVP candidate, the Sixers won last Monday’s game by 20. But Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr., who missed that game due to suspensions, should be available to the Rockets for the rematch.

The Rockets are facing the new challenge of a back-to-back, though that hurdle is mitigated somewhat since both games are in Houston. Owing to reduced logistics, head coach Stephen Silas said Sunday that the Rockets did not anticipate having any players resting on Monday.

The biggest problem for Houston continues to be defense. They are 1-10 in their last 11 games, and they have allowed 130 or more points in five of those outings — including 141 on Sunday versus Minnesota.

After not playing Sunday, veteran center Daniel Theis could be a defensive consideration to try and physically match up with Embiid. However, it remains to be seen if Houston can score enough points in such an arrangement — since it harms the team’s desired floor spacing.

The Sixers enter Monday with six straight victories overall.

76ers at Rockets notable injuries

For the 76ers, Tyrese Maxey and Paul Reed are in health and safety protocols and listed as out, as are Shake Milton (back contusion), Jaden Springer (non-COVID illness), and Ben Simmons (personal reasons).

Houston will not issue its injury/status report until only hours before tipoff, since it is the second night of a back-to-back. On Sunday, Usman Garuba and Armoni Brooks were sidelined in the NBA’s health and safety protocol, while Alperen Sengun is out with a right ankle sprain.

Trevelin Queen missed Sunday’s game due to personal reasons, but Silas said that he was hopeful of Queen being able to play on Monday.

Advice and prediction

Both of Houston’s first two games of its current homestand have resulted in the opponent covering the number and the game hitting the “over.”

With Monday bringing a better opponent (Philadelphia) than the first two (Dallas, Minnesota), and it being the second night of a back-to-back for Houston, it’s hard to envision a significant change so soon.

Prediction: Sixers 121, Rockets 109
