If you’re suffering from back pain or get restless sitting on an office chair for hours, it may be time to invest in a standing desk
While working from home comes with its benefits, many of us tend to fall into bad habits which include working on the sofa, in bed or even at a regular computer desk – and chances are your back’s now suffering the consequences.
So, seeing as we’re pretty much back at home full-time, it may be time to switch your working from home set-up and opt for a standing desk to give that back a good rest.
Aside from being kinder to your back, a standing desk will make you feel more awake and alert – not to mention all of the calories you’ll burn throughout the day.
In this article, we’ve rounded up 8 best standing desks out there to improve your productivity and save your posture at the same time.

Why do I need a standing desk?
If you spend long periods a day sitting in front of a screen, you’re more likely to pick up some bad habits, for example slouching into your seat. This can lead to stiffness, tightness, pain, and even more serious problems in the future. Standing desks help to encourage better posture whilst keeping your legs and core engaged throughout the day. They can also make you more productive and less likely to fall asleep whilst working from the couch.
Should I stand up all day?
The best advice we would give is to alternate between standing and sitting to help avoid the negative effects associated with both, hence why a sit-stand desk that allows you to do both is the best option.
What are the alternatives to a standing desk?
If you don’t want to commit to splashing out on a standing desk, there’s plenty of other options out there to save your back from hurting. Alternatives include ergonomic office chairs that’ll take the strain off your back and encourage an upright posture. You can go for an even cheaper option and purchase special exercise balls with special holders that provide back support, as well as different forms of kneeling chairs that can help keep your core engaged while placing less pressure on your back.
