’83 Poster alert: It comes with a message of victory by Kapil Dev’s mother

It’s less than a day before we get to see the trailer of much-awaited movie ’83. And actor Ranveer Singh makes sure to keep his fans hooked. He shared a new poster of the Kabir-Khan directed film. It didn’t come alone. The actor also shared an inspiring quote by Kapil Dev’s mom. In the sports drama based on the ’83 World Cup that India won, Ranveer plays the role of the cricket legend and Deepika Padukone plays the role of Kapil Dev’s wife, Romi.

In the new poster, we can see a serious Ranveer holding a bat in his right hand and looking into the distance. He is dressed in his jersey and there is something really intriguing about his look. While his picture covers the upper half of the poster, the lower half shows his teammates running on the field in their jerseys. There’s a smile on everyone’s face and the fading background with a huge crowd running towards Team India makes it an even more joyous picture. Ranveer, in its caption, wrote, “‘Bachpan se meri mumma mujhe sirf ek hee cheez kehti aayi hai – Beta jeet ke aana, koi best of shest of luck nahi. Bas jeet ke aana’ – Kapil Dev, 1983.” He also announced the trailer release date: “#83Trailer out tomorrow.”

Ranveer had shared another poster of the film featuring himself, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Tahir Raj Bhasin and others on Sunday. With the poster he began the countdown to the trailer launch as the caption read, “’Like people says, taste the success once… tongue want more.’ – Kapil Dev, 1983. 2 Days To #83Trailer.”

The teaser of ’83 last week broke the internet and the excitement continues to soar.

The cricket drama ’83 is scheduled for theatrical release on December 24 and apart from Hindi, it will also have Tamil, Telgu, Kannada and Malayalam version.
