It’s been 35 years since Tim Burton directed his comedy horror Beetlejuice.
Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis starred as a recently deceased couple who call on Michael Keaton’s bio-exorcist Beetlejuice from the Netherworld to haunt the new inhabitants of their house.
Plans for a sequel harken back to 1990 but now it’s finally going to happen after Warner Bros announced at CinemaCon this week that Beetlejuice 2 was in the works.
There have even been recent casting reports surrounding Wednesday star Jenna Ortega.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, multiple sources claim the rising star is circling a role in Beetlejuice 2.

Ortega has already been working with Burton as the star of Netflix’s Addams Family show Wednesday.
If cast she will play the daughter of Lydia, the character who was played by Winona Ryder in the original movie.
Burton and Keaton are expected to reunite for Beetlejuice 2 with production eyeing a late May or early June shoot in London.
A budget is yet to be set and the outlet claims a deal has been going back and forth. The film’s plot is currently under wraps as the rest of the cast.
However, if Beetlejuice 2 shoots this year it’s perfectly reasonable to believe it will hit cinemas in 2024, although this is yet to be confirmed.
