The Los Angeles Lakers eliminated the Memphis Grizzlies with a forceful 125-85 win Friday night. Following the Game 6 blowout, Dillon Brooks left the locker room before speaking to media.
On Sunday, the NBA fined Brooks $25,000 for not making himself available to reporters after the game.
Perhaps fans would have felt more sympathy for another player, but Brooks refused to talk for the third time since calling LeBron James “old.” Onlookers think the forward needs to hold himself accountable after a loss if he’s going to take shots at opponents otherwise.

Brooks made headlines when trash-talking the NBA’s all-time scoring leader. He responded by averaging 10.5 points with a 31.5 field-goal percentage during the first-round series.
James was seemingly referencing Brooks’ comments when tweeting it’s “apparent you’re staring at a legend” after dispatching Memphis.
Last week, Brooks blamed the media for turning him into a “villain.” Although it’s probably a good thing if he’s no longer interested in offering bulletin-board material, that doesn’t mean he must stop speaking altogether.
