Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts, Hilton’s signature luxury brand, will debut in the Seychelles with the opening of the anticipated Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island. Located on a secluded luxury private island, the resort promises an unparalleled nature lover’s escape with top-notch hospitality, slated to welcome guests from late 2023.
Situated in an untouched atoll, the resort is hugged by palm forests and seabirds, and turtles protected by its own lagoon and coral reef. The resort boasts 50 seafront villas, some of which have up to five bedrooms for unique vacation experiences, all equipped with private pools and personal concierge service. The island is home to a variety of native wildlife such as Hawksbill turtles, eagle rays, manta rays, and whale sharks, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers.
Elias Pertoft, general manager, Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island, said: “In the two decades I have called remote tropical islands a home, I have never witnessed an island as pristine as Platte Island, nor one so teaming with wildlife, where it’s possible to glimpse endangered Hawksbill turtles laying eggs, eagle rays and reef sharks ribboning along the lagoon. This combined with the elegant Waldorf Astoria service and personalised guest experiences is a winning combination that will redefine luxury in the Seychelles. I look forward to welcoming guests to this landmark destination.”
In keeping with Hilton’s “Travel with Purpose” commitment, the Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island will make use a solar field to create renewable energy across most of its operations. The island’s garden is expected to provide lots of its fruits and vegetables, in order to give guests a sustainable farm-to-table gastronomic experience. The Seychelles has long been a coveted getaway for guests seeking the ultimate barefoot luxury holiday.
Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island promises to take this experience to the next level by offering a unique and secluded vacation experience. The opening of the resort will take Hilton’s Seychelles portfolio to five hotels as it further expands its footprint in the destination. The Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island joins other luxurious Hilton properties in the Seychelles, including Mango House Seychelles, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa, Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa, and DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles -Allamanda Resort and Spa. Hilton also plans to open Canopy by Hilton Mahé soon.
Overall, Hilton’s commitment to sustainable travel and tourism across the region has resulted in the success of its properties, including the highly anticipated Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island. As Hilton expands its footprint across Africa and the Indian Ocean, guests can expect unparalleled luxury, sustainability, and hospitality in these destinations.
Hilton, a global hospitality company with a reputation for luxury and sustainability, has recently achieved a milestone in its African and Indian Ocean operations by reaching 100 hotels either in operation or in the pipeline across the continent.
