Volvo’s gave a bite-size teaser Tuesday for its new smallest electric SUV, the EX30.
The reveal of the next electric Volvo SUV didn’t share much beyond its name and hints to its size: small. The EX30 will be smaller than any other Volvo EV, including the upcoming EX90 which was first revealed last year.
The global debut for the EX30 is set for 7:30 a.m. ET on June 7, which is also when it’ll be available to reserve in the U.S.
A 30-second clip showed some brief shots of the more compact SUV that should slot beneath Volvo’s other electrified options: the C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge. The video shows some interior shots featuring a light-colored seat with Volvo’s trademark Swedish flag and quick glimpses of front and rear lighting.
As the naming convention implies, this will be Volvo’s smallest SUV yet. The EX90 mirrors the XC90 gas-powered SUV, but there is no existing Volvo with a corresponding “30″ designation. With a hand coming into the frame to grab the EX30, the size of the newest Volvo is emphasized again in the video teaser.
