LSG, on the other hand, are placed fifth with five wins and as many loses. They lost their last match against Gujarat Titans (GT) by a massive 56 runs. Lucknow defeated Hyderabad by five wickets in their earlier meeting against the Aiden Markram-led side this year.
As the two teams gear up to clash against each other for the second time in the IPL 2023, let’s have a look at four players who can take most wickets in the match.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar: The senior SRH pacer bowled two overs and picked one wicket for 19 runs in the first outing against Lucknow this season. He dismissed Deepak Hooda in the match. In 10 IPL 2023 matches this season, he has picked eight wickets at an average of 38.86 and an economy rate of 9.42.
Bhuvneshwar has played two matches against LSG till date and picked one wicket at an economy rate of 7.33. He would look to give his best in the crunch game for SRH.
Mayank Markande: The young leg-spinner is the leading wicket-taker for SRH at the moment. He has picked 11 wickets in eight matches at an average of 21.27 and an economy rate of 7.31.
Markande did not feature in SRH’s first match against LSG this season. He leaked 51 runs without taking any wicket in the high-scoring last game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and will be aiming a strong comeback.
Ravi Bishnoi: The leg-spinner is the leading wicket-taker for LSG at the moment. He has picked 12 wickets at an average of 24.08 and an economy rate of 7.91.
In his previous meeting with SRH this season, Bishnoi gave away just 16 runs in four overs and picked the wicket of Harry Brook. He has played five matches against SRH and picked eight wickets at an average of 13.87 and an economy rate of 5.84.
Naveen-ul-Haq: The Afghanistan pacer has played five matches in the IPL 2023 and picked seven wickets at an average of 14 and an economy rate of 6.12. He did not feature in the first match against SRH this season.
He picked three wickets when he last bowled in the IPL 2023. In the match against RCB he got the wickets of Mahipal Lomror, Karn Sharma and Mohammed Siraj. Overall, he has picked 167 wickets in 137 matches at an average of 22.88.
