South Korean actor Kim Woo Bin is back with a brand new drama Black Knight which released on Netflix on May 5, 2023. While the series has received rave reviews, plagiarism speculations arose when netizens pointed out that the series is similar to the game Death Stranding. However, the makers of the series have now released a statement dismissing the plagiarism allegations.

While the series is embroiled in a plagiarism controversy, it is soaring on the streaming giant. The series skyrocketed to first place in the global Top 10 (non-English) category within 3 days of its release. According to the Netflix Top 10 list on May 17 KST, the series recorded 31.22 million viewing hours after three days of its release and made it to the top of Netflix Global Top 10 TV (non-English) category. It is on Top 10 in 65 countries including Korea, Austria, France, Germany, Egypt, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Brazil.

Black Knight’s story is set in a peninsula that has gone dry, survival is not permitted to all. With only 1% of humanity left, Black Knight remains their last hope to overturn the world. In a dystopian future devastated by air pollution, the survival of humanity depends on the Black Knights — and they’re far from your average deliverymen.
