Apparently, Ja Morant is not the only member in his family that can play basketball at a high level.
The 23-year-old’s little sister, Niya, is heading to Mississippi Valley State University on a basketball scholarship.
Niya made the commitment announcement on her Instagram page with several photos in his new uniform, creating plenty of reaction from the sports world on Twitter.

The Mississippi State Valley women’s basketball program struggled mightily this past season, finishing with a 2-27 overall and 0-18 conference record. The hope is that Niya can help the program return to its winning ways.
According to HBCU Gameday, Niya received an offer from the program four months ago in January.
Since Niya is the sister of Ja, the Memphis Grizzlies All-Star point guard that recently made headlines for his second gun-related incident this season, the news involving her commitment has received more attention.
Good luck Niya and congrats.
