That ‘je ne sais quoi’ of French style will echo throughout the globe this summer. Luxury travelers to the French capital and popular French tropical escape, St. Barths, can each experience Le Boutique du Bristol at Le Bristol Paris or Eden Rock St. Barths. The Oetker Collection sister hotels will offer a curated selection based on the tony Parisian hotel shop but tailored to the beach lifestyle.
The vacation-centric offerings reflect a growing trend among luxury brands to open seasonal pop-up locations targeted to where their client travel. Often these also include specific design styles to attract shoppers with merchandise unique to that site and thus with a higher exclusivity feature. Chanel and Dior have been synonymous with resort spots for the uber-rich, opening ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’-worthy spots such as Ibiza, Porto Cervo, Forte dei Marmi, Capri, Mykonos, Cortina, and Bodrum. Loewe’s Paula Ibiza is an offshoot of the Spanish heritage brand that ties it up with the Ibiza boutique of the same name. In the 70s and 80s, it was ubiquitous for hippie lifestyle floral garments thanks to its owner, German architect Armin Heinemann.

Hotels have also begun reimagining their lobby shops to expand beyond sunscreen, shawls, and ties to offer a curated selection of clothing, household, and gift items. Guest designers for pop-ups are increasingly popular as well. For example, Lola Rykiel collaborated with the Le Gaunahani in St. Barths in 2022 to bring her playful Pom Pom line of easy-to-travel with relaxed, upscale separates.
In that vein, the iconic Oetker properties, its permanent store at Le Bristol, and the Caribbean St. Barths Eden Rock pop-up will mirror the other. Each shop will carry a similar curation of beach and resort-themed gear for summer, the latter being open from mid-May to September 17th.

The selection with feature women’s beachwear from Zimmerman and men’s resort wear from Orlebar Brown, along with styles from Olistic The Label, Lolita Jaca, Commas, Iris Noble, Yvonne Leon, Clap Paris, De Siena, Van Den Abeele, Nuée de Paris, Artesano, Frescobol Carioca and House of Bo.
The offerings include several collaborative, exclusive styles made for Eden Rock, which will also be available at Le Boutique du Bristol. Place Vendome jewelers such as Lorenz Baumer and Chopard and watch brand Hublot have created styles exclusive to the pop-up and the Bristol store. In line with the summertime mood, Chanel-owned Maison Michel has made a version of its popular Virginie hat in straw and custom details specific to the uber-chic island, while Sestini created an exclusive sunglass style.

The beloved local brand Ligne St Barth will also be offered in the lifestyle arena. To take the scent of the lush island home, Dyptique has also collaborated on a floral Ylang-scented with the hotel, making the perfect gift. English artist Alexandra Llewellyn customized a backgammon scent with the resort in mind.
The newly reimagined décor of the La Boutique du Bristol Paris serendipitously channels a beachy mood in the heart of Rue Faubourg du Saint-Honoré. The proper yet unfettered space features solid oak displays, linen paneling, and a neutral-toned customer-made Pinton rug that works together to create a relaxed and contemporary mood easily at home on the coast.
