The 26-year-old is best known for playing Edwina Sharma, in the second season of the Netflix drama, who arrived in London from India.
Edwina instantly catches the attention of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), while her older unmarried sister Kate (Simone Ashley) is set against the match.
Following her period drama success, Charithra stressed that her life ‘feels so normal.’
However, she explained that meeting a romantic partner has been more difficult a year after the eight-parter hit the streaming giant.
‘Even before the show, people would see me on Instagram or google me. Which we all do, it’s fine… but it started to get weird,’ she told Cosmopolitan UK.
‘So it is harder to meet people, but I don’t think I’m famous or successful enough to ever have to worry that someone’s dating me for clout. If I think about what kind of person I want to date, the number one thing I’ll say is that they need to be a feminist.
She continued: ‘I’m a feminist, I’m an advocate for women; I went to a girls school, my family is a matriarchy.’
Fans might not have long to wait until the third Bridgerton chapter drops on Netflix, following the critically acclaimed release of Queen Charlotte.
The third season of the show is set to focus on the love story between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, with Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan leading the cast as the respective returning characters.
Elsewhere, after Penelope’s fallout with her best friend Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) in the second season, it’ll be curious to see whether the former bosom pals will be able to patch things up.
A fixed release date for Bridgerton season three hasn’t yet been announced, but it’s understood that the show is expected to return at some point this year.
Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix.
