Eamonn Holmes has slammed Phillip Schofield and branded him “delusional” in an extraordinary attack where he warned the disgraced presenter “you picked the wrong man to fight”.
Eamonn fired off the brutal tweet shortly after Phil took to Instagram to attack unnamed people, claiming they held a “grudge”.
A short while later, Eamonn fired back mocking calling Phillip “Pip” and branding him a “liar” while also issuing him a chilling warning.
He said: “Schofield has just put out a delusional statement. Like Holly he puts it on Insta Stories so if it goes wrong there is no record after 24 hrs.
“I’m reluctant to give the liar any more publicity but believe me Pip if u r looking for a fight, u have picked on the wrong person!”.
It comes as earlier today Phillip said he has “noticed” in recent days that it is the “same handful of people” with a “grudge” against him and the show.
In a post on Instagram, Phillip wrote: “Now I no longer work on @thismorning I am free to say this.
“I hope you have noticed that it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.
“This morning IS the best show to work on, with the best people. In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity.
“You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like.
“But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it IS a family of wonderful, talented, kind and hardworking people.”
In recent weeks Phillip has come under intense scrutiny for his relationship with co-host Holly Willoughby and his conduct off camera.
On Friday the picture-perfect image of This Morning has come crashing down as Phillip made an admission to having an affair with a much younger male colleague while he was still married.
Phillip shared the bombshell after he announced that he is stepping away from ITV for good.
Meanwhile Eamonn – who worked on This Morning for 15 years – said at least four members of the senior management team at the channel knew about the scandal and “never once” took action.
Eamonn tweeted: “Schofield has finally been caught out. But he’s not the only guilty party.
“Four high members of ITV management knew what sort of man he was and NEVER once took action to prevent him controlling or taking advantage of his position over young people.”
