JJ Redick wasn’t having it with Chris “Mad Dog” Russo on Wednesday’s “First Take.”
After the legendary sports radio host listed 20 players he’d take before the Celtics’ Jaylen Brown, Redick had to address his comments right then and there:
I just want to say one thing… This entire conversation started because I said [Brown] was a top 20-25 player. Which means, he’s not ninth. He’s in the 20-25 range. You’ve named 20 really good players but you are the absolute worst. The fact that you put Kawhi [Leonard], Paul George and Kyrie [Irving] on that list ahead of Jaylen Brown when all you do is complain about their availability… Stop it, man. … You can’t have it both ways buddy.

“JJ Redick has single handedly saved ‘First Take’ in my opinion,” another replied. “Stephen A. is an amazing talent but JJ brings a circa 2011-2013 type fire to the show that’s sorely missed.”
