When Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro went down with a broken hand in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the hope was that he could be back were the team to make the Finals.

Herro underwent surgery on April 21 and has since been ramping up his workouts and testing the hand, but his status remains unclear for Game 2 on Sunday night.

Speaking to the media prior to tip-off, coach Erik Spoelstra didn’t have much to offer on Herro’s injury. Telling reporters that the sharpshooter’s outlook hasn’t changed.

Herro was Miami’s third-leading scorer during the regular season, averaging 20.1 points per game on 38% shooting from deep.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury in Game 1 of the Heat’s series vs. the Bucks on April 16, and has reportedly been doing everything he can to get back on the court with his guys.

Miami can use any offensive production it can get against the high-powered Denver Nuggets with their offense being so Jimmy Butler reliant. Hopefully, he’s not too far off from returning to the court.
