In an unthinkable tragedy, three trains collided in Balasore which has already claimed almost 300 lives. The heartwrenching tragedy involved two of the most demanding trains of the South-Eastern Railway section.
Chennai-bound Coromandel Express departing from Shalimar in Howrah collided with a Goods train and some of its compartments got derailed. A train coming from Bangalore towards Howrah then came in and crashed with those derailed compartments to make matters worse and claimed numerous lives.
Many persons have lost their lives while a fair of them are still to be traced. The families of the victims are having a stressful period to either identify the corpse of their lost ones or to take care of the injured.
Various governments have already announced compensation for the dead and the injured, and in this time of distress, people across the country have come forward with solidarity.
Amid the disturbing visuals that we have witnessed, former India cricketer Virender Sehwag made a massive announcement on Sunday (June 4).
“In this hour of grief, the least I can do is to take care of education of children of those who lost their life in this tragic accident. I offer such children free education at Sehwag International School’s boarding facility,” Sehwag tweeted on Sunday.

“Also salute all the brave men and women who have been at the forefront of the rescue operations and the medical team and volunteers who have been voluntarily donating blood. We are together in this,” the former India player added.
This will come as some sort of respite for those who have lost their near and dear ones. Various other players have expressed their condolences on the accident.
India batter Virat Kohli, who is currently in England to play the WTC Final against Australia, tweeted about the horrible incident as well.
