The Bear Was an Instant Hit

The first season of The Bear debuted in the summer of 2022. Its viewership was high, with FX touting the show as the most watched comedy series in its history. Better yet, the reviews couldn’t have been any better for the show, as it pulled in a perfect score of 100% with its approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score isn’t too far behind at 91%, making it nearly unanimous that The Bear is an excellent show.

The Bear has also found success with its awards earned. White won a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role on the show. The actor also won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy TV Series. Going for the hat trick, White would also nab a Screen Actors Guild award for his performance as a male actor in a comedy series. This year’s nominations for the Primetime Emmy Awards haven’t yet been announced, but it’d be surprising if The Bear isn’t well recognized at that event as well.

The first season of The Bear can be found streaming on Hulu. Meanwhile, you can look forward to the second season arriving this summer, as season 2 of The Bear is set to premiere on June 22, 2023.
