LeBron James is being called on to reunite with another one of his old teammates, but not in the way that you might expect.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving has reached out to LeBron to see if LeBron would like to join him in Dallas. Kyrie is an impending free agent while LeBron is under contract through 2024 before a player option to play through 2025.
While it may be head-scratching to see Kyrie be the one doing the recruiting, NBA fans are intrigued by the possibilities.
The idea of Kyrie, LeBron and Luka Doncic teaming up to form a super team already has fans speculating about what kind of trade the Mavericks and Lakers would need to pull off to make it possible.

It’s been rumored for a while that Kyrie is interesting in reuniting with the man he won an NBA title with on the Cavs back in 2016. Kyrie was spotted at the Staples Center during the Lakers’ recent playoff run and it seems pretty clear that he and LeBron are on good terms.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban would probably do anything to bring LeBron into the fold. The bigger issue would probably be whether the Lakers have any interest at all in moving him.
