Brian Intihar, Creative Director at Insomniac Games, took to the Summer Game Fest stage today to reveal some new details about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. While we didn’t get any new gameplay footage, we got two new pieces of concept art featuring the game’s main villains, Kraven and Venom.
Venom was revealed in the original trailer for Spider-Man 2, but we didn’t see anything more than his face at the very end. This art is our first look at Insomniac’s take on the character. When asked about his identity, Intihar would only say that it was not Eddie Brock, leaving the man inside the symbiote a mystery. But if you’ve played 2018’s Spider-Man, you’ve probably got a good guess as to who’s inside. For the full interview, check out the video below.
Additionally, we got an official release date. You can check out a map twice as big as the last with twice the web-slingers when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on PS5 on October 20, 2023.
