Brendan Loughnane suffered a stunning first round knockout defeat to Jesus Pinedo at PFL 4.
Pinedo scored a victory that registers as one of the biggest upsets in PFL history, however, stopping the champion after 94 seconds.
The Peruvian landed a vicious knee while in a clinch that stunned Loughnane and sent him to the canvas.
Pinedo leapt into see off his opponent with a series of stiff shots in the mat to seal his place in the play-offs where he will face Bubba Jenkins.
Defeat means Loughnane will not be able to defend his title after suffering the first knockout defeat of his career.
After the bout, the Briton was quick to praise his opponent, writing on social media: ‘Congrats champ. Took your opportunity and got me good.
‘In 44 fights that is the first time I have been stopped. Warrior.’
Pinedo is now one win away from fighting in the PFL final where the world title and a cheque for $1million will be up for grabs.
‘I told everybody, I told all the media that I was going to come here and I was going to get the win and I got the job done tonight,’ he said.
‘Yes, the game plan was to hunt him down and be aggressive and get the job done as early as possible.’
