What kind of magic is holding up Jennifer Lopez’s tousled ’90s updo, anyway? The superstar spent her Sunday Funday in a loose, undone style that appears to be held up by either a few very strong pins or sheer power of will — or maybe both!
Lopez shared a few snapshots from a Sunday brunch event promoting her craft cocktail line Delola, and this wasn’t the kind of brunch you shuffle up to in your hangover outfit. In true Lopez fashion, it was all glam, all the time, starting with that artfully arranged Pamela Anderson-esque messy updo. Lopez’s honey bronde hair was parted in the middle and pulled up at the back with a few pins for a casual, undone effect. Her front layers were left loose to frame her face and curled under, giving off the illusion that she had just quickly twisted up her hair without wanting it to look too perfect. Of course, an updo like this isn’t magic; it’s a game of strategy to arrange each section of hair just so and pinning it in place so it looks completely unbothered, but is actually a work of structural art and the definition of quiet luxury.
