As LiAngelo Ball continues to keep his basketball career alive with the G League’s Greensboro Swarm, he and his girlfriend are close to having their first child together. And this week we learned his name.
Taking to Instagram, Nikki Mudarris revealed that their son will be named LaVelo. Mudarris included photos from a party that they held to celebrate the announcement, with Ball family patriarch LaVar Ball also in attendance.
“LaVelo, we can’t wait to meet you. You’re so loved,” Mudarris wrote.
The post has over 150,000 likes since Tuesday.
LiAngelo Ball is the second of the three Ball brothers with his older brother Lonzo and younger brother LaMelo both being former top three overall picks in the NBA Draft.
Unfortunately, the NBA opportunities haven’t been there for LiAngelo the way that they have for his brothers. Since going undrafted in 2018 he has yet to play in an NBA game despite getting a handful of opportunities in summer basketball to prove his worth.
He has spent the last two seasons with the Greensboro Swarm, playing 31 games in that span.
