Dean Henderson is set to leave Manchester United this summer and has no chance of replacing David De Gea as he’s ‘p****d off’ Erik ten Hag.
The goalkeeper spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest and Steve Cooper’s side are keen on signing him on a permanent basis.
Henderson departed Old Trafford before even speaking to Ten Hag last summer.
That irked Ten Hag and the pair’s relationship soured further in January when Henderson was dismissive during talks with the Dutchman, who wanted to speak to him about returning to Old Trafford mid-season.
Henderson’s frustrations stem back to before Ten Hag’s time at the club when he felt Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reneged on a promise to make him first choice.
Ironically, Henderson would have a good chance of becoming first choice this summer if he was in Ten Hag’s good books as De Gea’s contract is set to expire in ten days’ time and he’s not close to signing an extension.
But the Manchester Evening News say Henderson’s behaviour has ‘p****d off’ Ten Hag and the Dutchman has no intention of reintegrating him.
United are currently assessing their options, with Inter Milan’s Andre Onana a leading contender to replace De Gea if he leaves the club.
The Italians want around £45m for the Cameroon international, though United’s initial bid would be around £35m.
Diogo Costa, Porto’s number 1, is another target but his release clause is £68m and the club will not listen to offers below that.
