Inside city tourist experience ranked among best in the UK – under 12s go free

A TRIO of Scottish attractions have made it into a list of the best tourist experiences in the whole of the UK.

This week Tripadvisor revealed Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best “Things to Do” Awards across the world.

The ranking is worked out by the team which looked at millions of reviews over the last year to work out where offered the best days out.

And in the list of best UK experiences there were three mentions for Scotland.

A tour of Glasgow made it into the top 10. The Gander Walking Tours firm got a nod for its brilliant jaunt around the city centre, from Royal Exchange Square to Glasgow Cathedral, taking in the city’s Victorian architecture.

Visitors can learn the fascinating story of Glasgow from a passionate guide on the three-hour wander, with kids under 12 able to join for free.

Meanwhile, also on the list was at tour of Celtic Park stadium.

Footie fans can experience the magic of Parkhead, soak up the history and feel the passion on the one-hour guided tour.

Celtic Park is one of the biggest football stadiums in Europe and those heading along can visit the board room, dugout and famous tunnel as well as learning the colourful history of the club which date sback to 1888.

The last Scottish location on the list is the Chocolatarium Chocolate Tour Experience in Edinburgh. This tourist attraction also won an accolade as number two in the world on the Family-Friendly Experiences category. It was also voted number four in the world in the Food&Culinary Experiences category and came fourth in the UK’s Top Experiences.
