This may upset the stuffed shirts at the MCC but That’s Entertainment by The Jam should boom around Lord’s during every break of play in the second Ashes Test between England and Australia.

If you’re wondering why then you clearly weren’t paying attention during five enthralling days at Edgbaston which were jam-packed with the most wonderful, amazing, nail-biting cricket imaginable.

The match swayed one way then the other with more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie thriller before the Baggy Greens somehow clinched victory.

There was a time not so long ago when Test cricket was almost unwatchable and before that there was Chris Tavare at the crease.

But these days even the tailenders are capable of putting up a decent score and Australia captain Pat Cummings scratched out an unbeaten 44 to secure victory by two wickets.

Dropped catches, a missed stumping and a brave declaration which was arguably a touch early with Joe Root firing on all cylinders, cost England dearly but they had the immense satisfaction of going out on their shields as all brave warriors should.

It does mean the second Test is pivotal as England will find it difficult to dig themselves out of the hole if they go 2-0 down.

But with a little rub of the green, Ben Stokes and his troops can tie the series – especially if the three batters who hit 40 runs in the second innings in Birmingham can turn those scores into something approaching three figures.

England’s bowling attack has something of a Dad’s Army feel to it with James Anderson nearing his 41st birthday and Stuart Broad not far behind at 37.

But Ollie Robinson adds fire and vigour, and Leicestershire’s 18-year-old leg- spinner Rehan Ahmed won’t let anyone down if he has to replace injury concern Moeen Ali after taking seven wickets on his debut against Pakistan in Karachi last winter.

England are big at 10/3 with William Hill to win at Lord’s and Harry Brook, who successfully dipped his toes into the Ashes water for the first time at Edgbaston with scores of 32 and 46, can be their top batter at 13/2 with Paddy Power.

Elton John, Debbie Harry, Chrissie Hynde and Sparks were among the artists who rocked Glastonbury despite being in their 70s and Broad, a bit of a fogey in cricketing terms, is 7/4 with Betway to be their top bowler.

• Coco Gauff is 6/5 with Betway by beating Bernarda Pera by over 5.5 games as she prepares for an assault on Wimbledon at Eastbourne.

• Taylor Fitz is 3/1 with Betfred to win the men’s singles title at Eastbourne.
