Bangladesh will aim for a semifinal berth of SAFF Championship 2023 as they take on Bhutan in the last Group B match at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday (June 28). It’s a must-win game for Bangladesh, who revived their tournament with a comeback 3-1 win over Maldives in their second Group game.
(Scroll below for latest updates) Earlier Bangladesh lost their opening group match to World No. 99 Lebanon, who put up a clinical show to win the game 2-0 through goals from Hassan Maatouk and Khalil Bader. Bangladesh looked all the way out of the SAFF Championship by the halftime of the second game too as they trailed 0-1.

Hello and welcome to the Live coverage of Bhutan vs Bangladesh match. Bhutan are wearing their home kit for the match while Bangladesh are in their away red kit as they need just a draw to qualify for the semifinal. The line-ups will be up next!
However, the side rallied to win through goals from Rakib Hossain, Tarik Qazi and substitute Shekh Morsalin for a famous win against Maldives.
Maldives have made Bangladesh’s job further easier by losing their last group game to Lebanon 1-0 and finished the group B with three points. This means Bangladesh, who are also on three points, now need at least a draw against Bhutan to seal the second semifinal spot.
Lebanon, on the other hand, finished the group topper and will face India in the second semifinal on July 1 at the same venue. Bangladesh, if get a favourable result, will face Kuwait in the first semifinal after the latter topped the group following an ill-tempred 1-1 draw against India in Group A on Tuesday.
Bangladesh’s rivals Bhutan are the bogey team of Group B so far with two losses in as many games. The Chenchyo Gyelsten starring side have scored just once through their captain and conceded six goals. They do have a long shot to qualify as they need to win the game by a margin of six goals to have a favourable goal difference.
