WWE Money in the Bank 2023: Spoiler on return for mega Summerslam match

With Money in the Bank going international for the very first time from the United Kingdom, WWE is reportedly having some major plans to please the fans. One of those plans includes bringing back Brock Lesnar into the mix.

Insider scoop revealer, WRKD Wrestling tweeted out to inform us that Brock Lesnar is planned to appear at Money in the Bank 2023. It’s a no-brainer that his appearance will be related to the impending contest against Cody Rhodes.

The source also hinted that a gimmick match will be built between Lesnar and Rhodes at SummerSlam, “Brock Lesnar is expected to appear at Money In The Bank to set up a third, gimmick match with Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam.”

Cody Rhodes will face Dominik Mysterio at Money in the Bank, and the expectation is that Lesnar will appear to cost Rhodes this matchup. Afterward, SummerSlam in August will be their planned destination.

Dave Meltzer confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio, earlier this month that The Beast Incarnate vs. The American Nightmare is scheduled for SummerSlam 2023. The two are also expected to collide in a gimmick match to culminate in this intense rivalry.

“I have been told that it is gonna be something. It’s not just gonna be a straight match. They’ve got some sort of stipulation that allegedly we have not seen in a while and that means not Hell in a Cell.”

In a follow-up, BWE recently reported that a Dog Collar Match was pitched for Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes III at Summerslam, but the idea was scrapped by the creative team despite Cody being a big fan of this stipulation.

The program featuring these two top superstars began the night after Wrestlemania 39 on Raw. They were originally scheduled to team up to face The Bloodline (Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa) in a huge tag team match.

The match never happened as Lesnar turned heel and viciously attacked Rhodes to set up their first bout at Backlash in May. In that Puerto Rico PLE, Rhodes defeated a busted-open Lesnar via roll-up.

At Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, Lesnar equalized the score by passing out Rhodes using the Kimura Lock. Heading into Money in the Bank 2023, Rhodes has already issued a challenge for the third match against the former WWE Champion.
