Sri Lanka will be playing for pride as they lost the first two T20Is, played at the same venue, as New Zealand had little difficulty in winning both games. There are no injury updates available ahead of the dead rubber but pacer Hanna Rowe didn’t play the second game after bowling just one over in the first game.

SL-W vs NZ-W key players

Sri Lanka women key players

(Wicketkeeper: A Sanjeewani) Sanjeewani has been the obvious choice in the department with identical innings of 18 runs in the series so far. With Sri Lankan batting struggling against quality New Zealand bowling, the wicketkeeper may have a role to play again.

(Batters: H Samarawickrama, N de Silva, V Rajapaksha Gunaratne, H Perrera) H Perrera and N de Silva left good impressions in the middle order with a knock of 36 and 23 respectively in the last game while the top-order has been ordinary.

Opener V Rajapaksha Gunaratne started off the series well with 26-run innings in the first game but could cough up only seven runs in the second while her strike rate hasn’t been encouraging. The story is no different for another top-order batter H Samarawickrama, who scored 12 and 23 at a low strike rate.

(All-rounder: C Atapattu, K Dilhari) Skipper Chamari Atapattu has misfired in both the matches, including a first-ball duck in the first T20 while spinner K Dilhari could be a good pick in the condition as she bowled economically and picked a wicket each in both games.

(Bowler: I Ranaweera , O Ranasinghe, S Kumari, U Prabodhani, I Fernando) Spinner I Priyandharshani Fernando has been the most successful bowler for the side with three wickets for 17 runs in the first T20I but White Fern batters read her off well in the second T20 as she gave away 27 runs in three overs for no wickets.

New Zealand women injury update

(Wicketkeeper: B Bezuidenhout) The New Zealand wicket-keeper starts the innings and scored a quick 24 in the last game.

(Batters: S Bates, M Green, B Halliday, G Plimmer) Suzie Bates has enjoyed batting in the conditions with knocks of 44 and 52. She didn’t bowl in the last game but did take a wicket in the first T20. M Green and G Plimmer bat in the middle-order and have seen limited batting opportunity with top order scoring runs. B Halliday may get to play in the match as New Zealand have nothing to lose.

(All-rounders: S Devine, A Kerr, L Kasperek) Amelia Kerr has scored 25-odd runs at No. 3 in both games and picked a couple of wickets in the first game as well. Skipper Sophie Devine has played a limited role with the bat as she managed just 5 runs across two innings and bowled just two overs. Spinner L Kasperek picked two wickets in the first game but was ineffective in the second.

(Bowlers: L Tahuhu, H Rowe, E Carson, F Jonas) Pacer Lea Tahuhu is the hot property for the game after picking four wickets. Spinner E Carson has been in good form with three wickets in two games
