Twitter has stepped in and suspended a parody account that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green inadvertently thought was true.
Green’s day started with him getting into a beef with Jordan Poole’s father Anthony over the controversial punching incident last year. After some back and forth between Green and Anthony Poole, things got weird for Green.
A short while later, Green retweeted a quote from a parody account called NBACentel – a parody of the NBACentral account – which tried (with success) to cause a beef between Green and NBA legend Kevin Garnett.
Garnett pointed out the quote was fake and Green deleted his tweet. But while NBACentel may be patting themselves on the back for a successful prank, they may have flown a little too close to the sun.
The account has since been suspended, likely because it was a parody account but did not identify itself as such. That’s a big no-no on Twitter under owner Elon Musk.

But it wouldn’t be a shock if the account owners of NBACentel make a new account and try to cause trouble again in the future.
If it worked this well once, surely it’ll work again.
