On Friday, it was announced that Walker signed a deal with AS Monaco Basket. The club, which is well known for its soccer team, plays in the LNB Pro A league in France.
That is the same league as Metropolitans 92, the team Victor Wembanyama last played for before entering the NBA Draft. Wembanyama was selected with the top pick in this year’s draft by the San Antonio Spurs.
Walker only appeared in nine games for the Mavericks last season, but he did score a season-high 32 points in a game in December.
The former UConn guard enjoyed the most successful portion of his career in Charlotte, where he spent eight seasons.
As a member of the Hornets/Bobcats franchise, Walker averaged 19.8 points per game in those eight seasons and made three All-Star teams.
He was selected to the third All-NBA team in his final season with Charlotte before signing with the Boston Celtics.
Walker will join multiple former NBA players at Monaco, including Jaron Blossomgame and Mike James.
