He didn’t quite “catch ‘em all”, but Nick Kyrgios crammed as many Pokemon characters as he could into an epic tattoo that sprawls across the tennis star’s back.
The 28-year-old showed off the completed product of his new ink on Friday, with his entire back paying tribute to the popular Japanese cartoon.
Last year’s Wimbledon runner-up appeared thrilled with the final result, taking to Instagram to write ‘Pokemon gang 4 life’ to accompany a video of how the tattoo came together.
“Had to cook up something crazy,” he wrote.
Featuring characters including Blastoise, Mewtwo Charizard, the ink is courtesy of renowned Los Angeles studio Ganga Tattoo Studio.
The artists, who have previously been responsible for tattoos on NBA legend LeBron James, wrote on Instagram that the work had been completed surprisingly quickly.
“Full back in just 5 hours for my brother @k1ngkyrg1os… much love enjoy your new piece,” the studio’s caption read.
After last year’s stunning run to the Wimbledon final before losing to Novak Djokovic, Kyrgios has failed to appear in a grand slam tournament this year after battling a string of injuries, including a torn ligament in his wrist.
