Yuvraj Singh wins heart with his retirement post for Stuart Broad, explains why pacer is a ‘real legend’

In a heartwarming post which is being appreciated by the fans, Yuvraj called Broad one of the finest red ball bowlers to have ever played the game. The former India cricketer saluted the determination of Broad to play 167 Test matches and pick over 600 Test wickets. The Nottinghamshire pacer is only the second pacer to achive the feat.

Fans were waiting for Yuvraj’s reaction ever since Broad made the shock announcement after the end of Day 3 play of the fifth Test at The Oval in London. Notably, it was Yuvraj who had hit six sixes off Broad in the T20 World Cup 2007. A then 21-year-old Broad was playing only his eighth T20I match back then.

“Take a bow @StuartBroad8 Congratulations on an incredible Test career ???????? one of the finest and most feared red ball bowlers, and a real legend! Your journey and determination have been super inspiring. Good luck for the next leg Broady!” Yuvraj tweeted.

Broad’s journey from being hit to six sixes in over to 600-plus Test wickets has been nothing but inspirational. The lanky pacer played a total of 56 T20I matches and picked 65 wickets at an average of 22.93 and an economy rate of 7.62.

He also featured in 121 ODI matches in which he picked 178 wickets at an average of 30.13 and an economy rate of 5.26. Broad’s last T20I and ODI matches came back in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
