The Dallas Mavericks won’t bring back center JaVale McGee for the 2023 season.
The Western Conference franchise released the 35-year-old on Tuesday, sending him to the open market, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

McGee, 35, averaged 4.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.3 assists on 64 percent shooting from the field in 42 games.
The former first-rounder in the 2008 NBA Draft spent the first four seasons of his career with the Washington Wizards, four with the Denver Nuggets, one with the Philadelphia 76ers, one with the Dallas Mavericks, two with the Golden State Warriors, two with the Los Angeles Lakers, one with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, and Phoenix Suns before a return to Dallas last season.
McGee will look for his ninth team in free agency.
