The star rose to fame when competing on the British show, ‘The X Factor.’ He originally auditioned in 2008 when he was 14, but did not make it through. When he auditioned again, two years later, he was put in a group with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik to make up what would become One Direction. The group went on to get third place on the show, but continued making music afterward and became a worldwide success.
Liam himself is credited with writing many of One Direction’s songs. After the band decided to go on an indefinite hiatus in 2015, Liam pursued a solo career, working with artists such as Rita Ora, Zedd, Quavo, and more. Scroll through to see more pics of Liam.
