A hit from the minute we spotted the first teaser images of lead actors Lady Gaga and Adam Driver working on set, when the official House of Gucci trailer debuted in August searches for Gucci spiked 173%. Meanwhile page views for polka-dot and lace dresses (often worn by Gaga’s character Patrizia) increased by 100%. Gucci’s aviator glasses (as seen on Adam Driver) have steadily grown in popularity, as well.
6. SEX EDUCATION
The Netflix favourite returned for its third series in September, and the cast’s ‘80s-inspired wardrobe inspired us all. One week after its release, online searches for varsity and letterman-style jackets increased 93%, along with more than 10,000 daily page views for outerwear. Aimee Gibbs, played by Aimee Lou Wood, and her flared jeans set off a 50% spike in searches in under 48 hours.
7. SAVAGE x FENTY VOL. 3 SHOW
Officially the queen of the most breathtaking, empowering, entertaining runways, Rihanna brought back her Savage x Fenty spectacle in September. The pieces caused a huge surge in searches for undergarments, specifically ‘colorful’ and ‘neon’ lingerie (a favourite aesthetic of the brand’s) which grew 116% in less than a week following the show’s debut.
8. SQUID GAME
The Korean drama series is now Netflix’s most popular series ever, and with the timing of its release, ahead of Halloween, it unsurprisingly became a major source of inspiration. Global searches for the show’s signature wardrobe saw huge uplift, with tracksuits up 97%, white slip-on sneakers up 145%, red boiler suits up 62% and white numbered T-shirts up 35%. Vans has become the most-viewed slip-on sneakers since the show’s release, while demand for the color teal is up 130%.
