Clint Arlis, who starred on season 11 of hit dating show The Bachelorette has died at the age of 34, his friend has confirmed.

The muscly star featured on the ABC franchise in 2015 alongside Kaitlyn Bristowe and the cause of his death is currently unknown.

His passing was announced on Twitter by family friend Scott Bayer, who knew the star through wrestling at Batavia High School in Illinois.

Scott made the announcement by sharing images of Clint and writing: “It is with a heavy heart and a sense of profound loss that we announce the death of one of the Batavia Wrestling Program’s All-Time greats, 2005 graduate, Clint Arlis.

“Clint was the beloved son of Coach Tom Arlis and his wife, Jamie, protective, loving older brother of his sister, Taylor, and the boyhood idol and best friend of his kid brother, Coach Logan Arlis.”

He continued to share a series of heartfelt tweets, saying: “His legacies as a fierce competitor, tireless worker, a caring influence to younger Batavia wrestlers, a devoted friend and a loving son and brother will resonate far beyond his days in our presence.

“On behalf of all of us in the Batavia Wrestling Family, we send our deepest and most sincere condolences to the Arlis Family during this period unimaginable heartbreak and grief.”

He added: “I have come to know Clint over the years since I joined Tom’s coaching staff and the Batavia Wrestling Family in the late fall of 2005, after his graduation.

“I have found him to be extraordinarily devoted to his family and deeply committed to the sport wrestling at a level few of us have ever reach in our careers.”

During his time on The Bachelorette, Clint was portrayed as a villain of the show alongside fellow contestant JJ Lane. He was eliminated after just three weeks.

Star of Bachelor Nation Nick Viall described Clint as “a very kind, unique, and talented person who was taken from this world far too soon” in an emotional Twitter tribute.

Illinois Wrestling also tweeted: “We are incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of former Illini wrestler Clint Arlis.

“Our thoughts are with Clint’s family and friends during this heartbreaking time. We will miss you, Clint.”

And fans of the star paid their respects on social media too.

One Twitter user wrote: “So very shocking, sadden…. he is so young, gone to soon…. rip Clint Arlis”

Another penned: “Clint Arlis was and always will be in my memory one of the most kind and genuine souls I have ever met.”
